I submitted my identity verificationβ¦
I submitted my identity verification (KYC) to BrightFunded on 11th October 2026. More than 7 days later, my verification is still not completed and my status hasnβt changed.
For a prop firm that advertises fast and smooth processes, a week without a decision, or even a clear status update, is not acceptable. Traders have invested money and time in these challenges and deserve transparent communication, especially about verification, which is a basic step.
I hope BrightFunded improves its support response times and gives clear timelines for verification. Until then, I canβt recommend them to other traders.
Two $200k funded accounts and ~$49,000 in profit wiped over one accidental same-minute order. Zero tolerance, zero humanity.
I never thought I would write a review like this, but what happened with BrightFunded has honestly been one of the most frustrating and disheartening experiences I've had as a trader.
I was not a one-time customer. I bought evaluation after evaluation, passed both phases multiple times, and funded several accounts with BrightFunded. I paid extra for premium add-ons like Weekly Payouts (+25%) and No Minimum Trading Days (+15%), because I trusted this firm and planned to build a long-term relationship with it. That trust was destroyed in a single day.
On January 5, 2026, two of my $200k funded accounts were terminated at once for a "hedging violation".
#Funded-3342816: balance $245,986.89, +$45,986.89 profit. This profit came from normal swing positions held over several days. Then, one accidental 50 ETH order (trade ID #98934006) was opened and closed within the same minute, at 22:54, for a loss of -$125.74. One single minute. A loss, not a gain. No benefit, no exploitation, no intent whatsoever. And for that, nearly $46,000 of profit was erased.
#Funded-3969965: balance $203,320.03, +$3,320.03 profit. Only 2 trades, both closed in profit. Terminated together with the first account, as if it didn't matter at all.
To make it even more absurd, both dashboards still show "Max Loss Current: $980,000.00" on accounts that were deep in profit with $0 daily loss. Nobody at BrightFunded has ever explained this number to me.
And it didn't stop there. On a newly passed account (Phase2-3620357), my leverage was cut by 5x after just 2 trades, using the same position sizes I had used on my previous accounts. Two trades, and suddenly I was labelled a "high risk to their capital".
I wrote to the risk team and to management several times, calmly, with screenshots and trade logs. I explained exactly what happened. Every time I received the same cold template reply: the decision is final. No human review of the actual trade, no warning, no partial solution, no consideration that a loyal customer made one honest mistake that cost him money rather than earning him any.
I understand prop firms need rules. But a firm that advertises itself as trader-friendly, with "no strategy restrictions", should be able to tell the difference between someone gaming the system and someone who made a one-minute, money-losing accident. BrightFunded chose not to.
If you trade more than one account with BrightFunded, be extremely careful. One wrong tap, even for a few seconds, can cost you everything you've built, and you will not be heard.
I'm still asking BrightFunded for a fair, human review of these accounts.
Dear Trader,
Thank you for your feedback, and for the time you have spent trading with BrightFunded. We want to set out the facts clearly.
Your two funded accounts were terminated in January 2026 for breaking our hedging policy. Hedging means holding opposite positions on the same instrument at the same time, whether within one account or across accounts, and our Terms and Conditions prohibit it. The rule is applied based on what the trading records show. It does not depend on the size of the trade, how long it was open, or whether it closed in profit or loss. That is the only way it can be applied fairly to every trader. Where a violation involves more than one account, the action applies to every account involved.
This was not an automated decision made without review. Our Risk team reviewed your case, including the explanations you sent, and confirmed the outcome to you in writing on 19 January 2026. The Max Loss figure you mention on the dashboard played no part in the decision, because the accounts were not closed for reaching a loss limit.
The leverage adjustment on Phase2-3620357 came from that accountβs own independent risk review. Every evaluation is reviewed on its own, and the outcome of one review does not carry over to another account. As we explained at the time, the adjustment still allowed you to keep trading, and it was set out as temporary and subject to review.
Our promise of no strategy restrictions means traders are free to trade in their own style. It does not cover practices that our Terms and Conditions prohibit, and those apply to every account in the same way. We understand this outcome is disappointing, but the decision was reviewed, explained to you and remains final.
Kind regards,
BrightFunded Team
Stop-loss filled $1.09 below my level
Stop-loss filled $1.09 below my level β account lost, no correction
On 13 October 2026 my XAU/USD buy trade (0.97 lots, ticket 7399129) on a $100,000 BrightFunded account was closed by stop-loss. My stop-loss was at 4179.50, but the order was filled at 4178.41, which is $1.09 below the level I set. My planned risk was $901 (0.90%). The actual loss was $1,006.86 (1.01%), almost 12% more. Because of this, my account was breached.
BrightFunded confirmed in writing that this was "a drawdown breach caused by slippage". Their support says a stop-loss is filled at "the next available price". According to independent Dukascopy tick data, the first price below my stop-loss was about 4178.95, so my fill was $0.54 worse. BrightFunded answered that only its own execution feed counts and that third-party data is not used. It did not provide its own price data. The decision was called final, and I was invited to buy a new challenge.
This was not a one-off: on 4 of my 5 trades on this account, my stop-loss or take-profit was filled worse than the level I set.
My advice to other traders: keep a large buffer between your stop-loss and the drawdown limits. At BrightFunded a stop-loss can cost you more than you planned, and in my case they refused to correct it.
Dear Trader,
Thank you for your detailed feedback. We understand how frustrating it is when a stop loss fills beyond the level you set, especially when it decides the outcome of an account, so we want to explain clearly how this works.
A stop loss is not a guaranteed price. It is an instruction to close the position once the market reaches a certain level. On a buy trade, the position closes at the bid price, so your stop loss was triggered when the bid reached 4179.50. At that moment it became a market order and was filled at the next available bid. When gold moves quickly, prices can jump past a level without trading at it, and the order is filled at the first price available after the jump. This is called slippage. It is a normal feature of live markets at every broker, especially on fast-moving instruments such as XAU/USD.
Price data from Dukascopy or any other outside source cannot be used to review a fill. Each provider has its own liquidity and its own price stream, so their prices always differ slightly at any given moment. Your order was executed against our own liquidity feed, and that is the record we use to review every trade, for every trader. Our spreads are raw with zero markup, so the prices you trade on come straight from our liquidity provider, with nothing added by BrightFunded.
Our support team is always available if you would like to go through your trades in more detail.
Kind regards,
BrightFunded Team
BrightFundedβs trailing drawdown rulesβ¦
BrightFundedβs trailing drawdown rules are excessively restrictive and frustrating. Despite managing risk carefully and experiencing relatively small losses, my account is now dangerously close to being breached.
These rules leave traders with virtually no room to operate. I strongly recommend reading the conditions carefully before purchasing an account. Personally, I would not recommend BrightFunded or buy another account with them.
Dear Trader,
Thank you for your feedback, and we are glad to hear your account is still active. We want to explain how our account models differ, because each one is designed for a different trading style.
BrightFunded offers three evaluation models:
One-Step: a 3% daily drawdown and a 6% maximum drawdown that trails your highest equity. It has a single evaluation phase, making it the quickest route to a funded account, and the trailing limit is part of what makes that shorter route possible.
2-Step Bright: a 4% daily drawdown and an 8% maximum drawdown.
2-Step Classic: a 5% daily drawdown and a 10% maximum drawdown.
On both 2-Step models, the maximum drawdown is static. It is fixed from your starting balance and does not move up as your account grows.
On the One-Step model, the size of the drawdown allowance never changes in dollar terms, but the level follows your highest equity. Once your account reaches a new high, that high becomes the new reference point, so giving back open profit counts toward the limit. The One-Step model suits traders who manage their profits actively. Traders who hold positions longer and want more room for their equity to move up and down usually prefer one of the 2-Step models.
We agree with your advice to read the conditions before buying. The rules for every model are published in our Help Center and shown at checkout, so each trader can pick the model that fits their style. If you would like help choosing the right model for your next account, our support team will be glad to guide you.
Kind regards,
BrightFunded Team
